FOOTPRINTS IN THE SNOW

OK. If this is all the cold, frost and snow we are going to see this winter,

it is not bad at all!!

We had a few days in the falling snow and it is enough,
now I am waiting for the green and listening to the chirping birdies outside my window.

I took some great shots out there in the bogs for the last few days
and that will keep me going for a while.

Now! Bring on the spring flowers and the bright warm sun!

My New Friend

white horse in a beautiful green field

The First day I saw him,

he was in the middle of the field, about 15- 20 meters away and he didn't even look at me, even though I paused and said hi.
On my way back, nine hours later, he was still there. I said hi, he just glanced at me and continued grazing.

Second day, he saw me coming along the road, looked at me sideways and pretended he didn't care. I stopped, talked to him for a while and moved on.

Third day, he was by the gate, as if he just happened to be there on his way to somewhere else. I stopped and talked to him, introducing myself finally close and personal.
He didn't come near me and stayed just out of reach.

Day four, he was at the gate obviously waiting for me, since I always pass at the same time and horses have such a great sense of time keeping. He knew when to expect me.
We greeted each other, I patted him on the neck and he eyed me suspiciously but did not move away.

In the afternoon I had a chance to pass by him again, he was in the field but came across all the way to greet me and was very curious for some reason. I was quite happy.

Day five, he was waiting for me with his rump stuck to the gate, batting his eyes at me so I had to stop and scratch his gorgeous behind.
After that  I said "Bye" and continued on my way.

I think, I definitely have a new friend.

BLUE SKIES OVER SPANISH ARCH

Finally! After a hard winter we get what we patiently deserve!

Maybe even a bit too much but don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, just not used to the heat and the sun anymore. It is easy to forget about it  means  during the constant rain and thick cloud cover.

At last, here in Connemara and All of Ireland a real paradise was unveiled from behind the clouds. It feels as if Ireland has moved out to the South of Europe somewhere, close distance from Sahara. And we are all loving it.

Majority of the population is moving around as red as lobsters and still they are not complaining. We will take this sun as long as it is here because we know this heaven will not last forever.

Look at that blue!! Galway is absolutely mesmerising under the sun. The crowds are out walking the streets and not knowing where to hide and what to do with themselves so everyone is gravitation towards the Spanish arch and Salthill where they sprawl under the sun soaking it in.

Nothing wrong with that. They are definitely the best places to be in town.  I didn't have a chance to visit Salthill and the beach but I spent some time at Spanish arch, listening to the crowds, taking some photos and feeling the cool breeze on my skin under that vast gorgeous blue sky. Fantastic.
Wish you were there..

Boxers in the Bogs

I had the most amazing walk today in the bogs.

I love when there is fog hugging the hills and bogs of Connemara. Everything is covered with a blanket of stillness and peace. It's hushed, quiet and empty everywhere. Because it's still early and people are indoors  having breakfast and preparing for the day.

Me, I like to be out before everyone else does. So I have the whole world for myself. And the dogs.

Why I love Early Mornings

I think, after you see these photos you won't need any explanation whatsoever.
For me, early morning is the best time of the day.

The sun is about to rise, the air is clear and fresh as if no one has taken a single breath yet and there is nobody around except me and my dogs...PERFECT

This is why I love Early Mornings
