March snow in Connemara

It is a rare thing indeed to have a March snow in Connemara these days.

Apparently this year 2015, there is snow in many places not only in Europe but across the ocean as well. All rather unusual and for some freaky and bothersome but for those like me who can not wait for an unusual circumstances to grab the camera and go out taking photos this was the perfect excuse!!

So here are a few shots from that gorgeous Sunday morning when I woke up and there was a lovely dusting of March snow in Connemara.

Thinking of Oughterard

Today I was planning of posting something entirely different but then I came across those images of Oughterard in my data base and I just had to work on them a little and share them with everyone.

So here you go guys, here is me thinking of Oughterard:

Sunrise stars on Main street

Busy summer Oughterard, I just love the flags

The view from the surrounding hills towards Oughterard and the Lough Corrib

A beautiful random house from town

Nothing beats a sunset on the pier

Oughterard in July

I have to admit that this year the weather is rather good compared to the last 5-6 years.

This very fact, I noticed, certainly attracts far more tourists than usual. This is vital for Connemara since most of the local businesses rely on the summer trade to survive. Hopefully this year will be good for everyone!!!

So I grabbed my camera last week or so and walked around town to take a few snaps.

Here is what I found. Enjoy. Oughterard in July - green, lush and colourful.

I started out on Cregg Road and admired the green.
