FROM GALWAY to DUBLIN and BACK

Believe it or not, I had ONE hour appointment in Dublin last Monday so I had no choice but to pack a sandwich (don't judge me, I like making my own sandwiches) and look for a bus.

Luckily I found GOBUS.IE. Fantastic service as it turned out, you can even chat with them on line right now if you have any questions and they are fabulously helpful. So I did my research and found the right buses for departure and return and all I had left to do was show up on time and not forget my sandwich! By the way there is a toilet and Wi-Fi in there so the trip can be as painless as possible.

The beauty of it all is that there is a bus leaving from Galway to Dublin and vice versa, every hour, so it is not a problem to go just for an hour and then come back!! I should try to get myself appointments more often I suppose. It is a good opportunity to take some photos on a new turf since I am not really familiar with Dublin. And since I did not have much time to go anywhere I only managed to take a few shots along the river. So bear with me, maybe next time I will have more time to discover more of Dublin and then there will be more to share!!

For now this is all I have:

The New Face of Connemara

connemara gold © Annie Japaud 2013

I decided it is time to reveal how Connemara has changed over the last few weeks since the weather turned for the worst.

It's dark outside right now, while I am writing, the wind is howling, the rain is lashing against the window and there is a warning for a hurricane that might land somewhere around here in Galway county or it might not, according to where it decides at the last moment, you know hurricanes!! So while we are preparing for the worst today, I am looking at some lovely golden photos I tool the last few days to make me feel better and I am going to share them with you hoping that they will brighten your day as well.

If there is one reason I do all this, it is to share the beauty I see in my everyday walks with you all, especially with you folks that live in big cities and crave for the big open spaces and being outside and fresh air and wind in your hair!! So those images today are for you! Enjoy

Oughterard, Another great find

I was walking home the other day through the lovely village of Oughterard when I came upon something new. I just love when people have artistic outburst!

I am going to start with a new window decoration on one of the deserted buildings on main street, right next to the Post Office.
Isn't it just great when people come up with great ides like that!
I love human ingenuity and sense of art and the gift to create something out of nothing.
I am so happy that there are people like that among us to brighten up our day.

So, join my photo walk through Oughterard and discover a few great finds with me.

Please, tell me what you think!!

I have to start with this discovery, I simply have to share with you all!!! Isn't it gorgeous!!
Well done, I say, to the person who brightened up this old and rusty corner.

And then just a few meters away, there is this little gem!!

This is the boat at the entrance of town which is rather a cool idea as well.

I got this lovely find on the benches in front of the health center

Then I continued my walk down Main Street

We can get ready for Halloween already too!!

I always liked the metal Boat Inns sign

And the cheerfulness of the tourist shop

Living notes around can only be helpful

Almost at the end of my walk I met this curious fellow

I also had time to admire the golden leaves of course :)

Have a great day!! Wherever you are!
